About
Hi — I'm Haroon Atif, a software engineer based in Los Angeles. I build cross-platform apps and the rigorous systems that sit behind them, and I like problems where correctness actually matters.
Right now I'm an engineering volunteer at Sileria on a mosque facility build — planning the physical security architecture in UniFi Design Center and designing and testing a segmented Ubiquiti network before the permanent install. On the software side I work on AlSalah, a Kotlin Multiplatform prayer-times app, where I shipped the first iOS build of the shared Compose codebase.
Before that I ran systems for a glass company — consolidating its accounting onto QuickBooks and building an Excel VBA macro that blocked a SpaceX job from being bid below cost — and spent a year at the City of Los Angeles ITA resolving 100+ ServiceNow tickets a day and auditing telecom billing. I also build with AI — most recently a Claude-driven browser-automation agent (Python, Playwright, FastAPI, MCP) deployed on Fly.io — and enjoy security-minded work like hardening embedded firmware for the MITRE eCTF.
